So, wow, this has been a year of ups and downs for everyone, hasn't it?  I can't say that I'll be sorry to see 2007 go in a few hours.

The highlights (and lowlights)
- My nephew graduated and turned 18 in May, so I got to spend a week at home for that.  It was a week I needed.
- I quit my job in June and felt a lot better getting away from my psycho ex-boss and the toxic work situation I was in.
- However, I spent the next 2 months unemployed, which wasn't much fun and definitely wasn't good on the finances.
- Turned 37 in July and spent a lot of time wondering just what the fuck I'm doing and where I'm going.  Sadly, I still haven't figured it out.
- Found a new job in mid-August that is just awesome and I love to bits.
- My niece had a baby the day I started the new job, a little girl she named Mira Leah, whom I have yet to see.  Hopefully soon, though.
- Had a bit of an accident in November, that resulted in a broken ankle and surgery.  Still in the cast, but hopefully that will change in a few days.
- Spent the last 6 weeks of the year out of work due to above injury, which also led to death-by-crutches threats from azewewish (I'm still not entirely sure she was kidding, y'all), which resulted in moonmelody kidnapping me for almost the entire month of December.

Random bits
- Met some pretty awesome new friends.
- Parted ways with a few others, due to life happening, but I only wish them all the best.
- Reconnected with a few others, for which I'll be eternally grateful.
- Enjoyed quite a bit of live music, which is always a good thing.
- Spent far too much time missing my family and doubting myself.  I wish I could have spent more time with them, but that's the sacrifice I made by moving to L.A.
- Lost weight, gained some of it back, but what can you do when you're stuck on your ass for over 6 weeks?

Overall, the year wasn't horrible, but it wasn't one of my best.  There are things I'm grateful for, and people for whom I'm even more grateful - editorzon, coolwhipdiva, aproposofnothin, sabrinagb, without_me, moonmelody, technosage, azewewish, soylahtayplease, wendyr, Tracy - and other people for things they'll never know about.  So it goes.

I can't say thank you to all of you enough for making 2007 as weird, crazy, interesting, unique, frustrating, enticing, and fun as it was.  You guys consistently bring a smile to my face and amaze me with the sheer amount of talent I see every day, be it writing or visual.  Hopefully, 2008 will allow me to be more interactive and get to know all of you better, regardless of whether we share one interest or many.
